Hello and nice monday.

This news is a day late, but there was no time to post it yesterday. In case you missed it, here it is. The San Francisco Giants put left-handed Caleb Baragar on the 10-day injured list on Sunday before their series finale with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

He was replaced on the roster by right-hander Nick Tropeano, who had been given an option just the day before.

Giants placed Caleb Baragar on the IL with an inflammation of the left elbow. Nick Tropeano remembered from AAA.

It’s another injury hit for the Giants, who have had numerous key players in the IL throughout the season and currently have Brandon Belt, Tommy La Stella and Reyes Moronta by their side. Baragar was one of the team’s most reliable bullpen options that year with a 0.52 ERA, a 3.58 FIP, and 14 strikeouts for 11 walks in 17.1 innings.

But it’s hard to see it’s too big a hit for the team considering how good Tropeano did last year when he had a 1.15 ERA and a 2.55 FIP, with 19 strikeouts to 4 walks in 15.2 innings with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Hopefully Baragar will recover quickly and be back in the squad soon. He was one of the better stories on the team last year after being a shocking addition to last year’s roster.

In other injury news, right-handed starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez is getting closer to returning.

Aaron Sanchez will host a side session either today or tomorrow when he returns from a bicep strain.
