Shortly before their game against the San Diego Padres on Saturday, the San Francisco Giants announced that right-handed starting pitcher Aaron Sanchez will be placed on their 10-day list of injured due to a right bicep problem.

The placement will take place retrospectively until Wednesday, May 5th, one day after Sanchez’s last appearance.

ROSTER MOVES: RHP Kevin Gausman has been reinstated from the injured list.

RHP Aaron Sanchez was placed on the 10-day list of injured persons (retroactive May 5) with proper biceps tightness.

If Sanchez can get back to rotation after 10 days, he will only miss one start. That start would go to Logan Webb, who, thanks to Johnny Cueto’s return, should leave the rotation but will remain for a while.

Sanchez had a wonderful race to catch up. In six starts, he has a 3.18 ERA, a 3.79 FIP and 24 strikeouts to 10 walks in 28.1 innings. He was an integral part of a Giants rotation that, despite all odds and prognoses, was one of the best in baseball.

Hopefully it’s just a one-time absence for Sanchez so he can get back on the rotation next week.
