SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) – San Francisco Police released new footage last month of a passenger setting fire to a woman’s hair on a bus.
The incident occurred on May 2, when officials were responding to reports of a serious attack on board a Muni bus.
Upon arrival, the bus driver told them that the hair of a female passenger had been set on fire by a teenage black man who was most recently wearing a red long-sleeved shirt with colored logs on the front, matching red pants and a black backpack.
The suspect and two acquaintances fled the vehicle.
Other passengers helped the victim, who left the scene before the police arrived. She has been described as a woman of Filipino or Latin American descent, between 50 and 60 years old, with dark hair and glasses.
SFPD investigators found that both the victim and the suspect got on the bus on McAllister and Laguna Streets.
The investigators now ask the victim to come forward and make a statement.
