PACIFICA (CBS SF) – A tip from an alarmed resident led to the arrest of a 26-year-old Pacifica man on Friday for kidnapping and burglary, among other things.

Shortly before 7 a.m., the police were informed of noises in an allegedly vacant apartment building on the 1100 block of Manzanita Drive. The caller went to investigate and reported seeing two people depart in a vehicle.

“During the preliminary investigation it was reported that one of the people seen may have been kidnapped and that a firearm was involved,” said the police, who issued an all-points bulletin based on the information.

The vehicle and two subjects were located in Brisbane and San Francisco with the help of police, and a firearm and stolen property were recovered. The kidnapping victim was unharmed, the police said.

Ryan Patrick McAuliffe, 26, of Pacifica, was arrested and posted to Redwood City Main Prison for kidnapping, burglary, vandalism and conviction as a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.
