A mountain lion was spotted in the Bernal Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, a district chief said Tuesday.

Supervisor Hillary Ronen said in a tweet that there had been confirmed sightings in the neighborhood, but she didn’t specifically say where.

She said the San Francisco Department of Amusement and Parks will post warning signs in the area.

There are confirmed sightings of a mountain lion in Bernal Heights. When you meet the lion: be big, do not turn your back, pick up children, do not run. Rec & Park will put up warning signs in the park. Animal Care & Control is on the case.
