The MAK Studio is a small, design-oriented architecture studio in the Polk Gulch district of San Francisco. Our focus is on a modern aesthetic that encompasses award-winning residential and commercial design. Our studio’s culture is collaborative, fast-paced, and we pride ourselves on turning our team members into avid problem solvers and thoughtful designers. Our small office size allows every employee to experience every facet of a project from conception to construction, including the interface between clients, contractors and consultants.

We are looking for an experienced and extraordinary medium-sized designer for our team. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, able to solve problems independently and work on several projects at the same time. Candidates should have project management experience to strategize effective project plans and maintain project objectives. This position will work directly with the company’s client and project architects to develop documentation for all phases of various projects.

This position can include the following responsibilities:

  • Code analysis.
  • Creation of drawings from the circuit diagram to the construction management.
  • Project coordination with customers, consultants, suppliers and contractors.
  • Construction management tasks such as RFIs, RFPs, reviewing and responding to change requests.
  • Assistance with a range of project management tasks including invoicing, budget tracking, and other general office management tasks.
  • Presentation renderings used to communicate project intent to clients and local jurisdictions

Ideal candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor or Diploma in Architecture
  • 5-10 years of professional experience, ideally in all phases of planning, documentation and construction management
  • High-end modern living experience is preferable
  • Knowledge of AutoCad, Office CAD standards
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal skills

This position is full time. The salary will be commensurate with the experience. This position is available immediately.
