SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – A high-speed chase reached speeds of over 200 km / h early Monday when the suspect sped over the Bay Bridge and was eventually arrested at gunpoint in San Francisco.

The persecution and arrest were recorded with video cameras on board a CHP helicopter.

The CHP said the suspect fled Vallejo police early Monday and began traveling west on Highway 80 at high speed.

The suspect raced across the Bay Bridge with CHP officials at around 2:50 a.m. The driver meandered through traffic in a westerly direction at a speed of over 200 km / h.

The suspect then left the freeway on 5th Street and sped down Harrison Street. He took sixth place on the right and was cornered at a Recology facility after a brief chase. The suspect was arrested without incident.
