Graphic designer for architecture and urban development companies: 2+ years of experience

We are currently seeking full-time graphic designers for flexible work on our growing in-house communications team (communications director, communications coordinator, part-time graphic designer) and permanent leadership in a number of marketing and business development areas as well as some architectural / environmental graphics.

The full-time position is initially remote and supports an office in San Francisco.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce a range of printed, digital, and web-based graphics and documents, including proposals (RFPs and RFQs), pricing templates, marketing materials, graphic templates, social media graphics, presentations, billboards, information graphics and promotional materials

  • Assist the communications director and act as a resource for the staff with graphic design needs

  • Ensure continuity and manage the workflow with a part-time graphic designer

  • Provide graphical support for architectural renderings and presentation plans

  • Preparation and packaging of the final, print-ready mechanical files for print and digital print

  • Maintenance and management of marketing materials (résumés, single project sheets, qualifications)

  • Collaboration on environmental graphics and route design (building signs, etc.)

  • Collaboration in the in-house video production

  • Retouching

  • Help with managing, updating and maintaining dynamic website content (CMS)

  • Help manage / organize / maintain digital assets

Qualifications:

minimum

  • 2 years of professional experience in graphic design

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field

  • Confident handling of the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)

  • Excellent design, typography and layout skills and sensitivity

  • Strong oral and written communication with an eye for accuracy, consistency and attention to detail

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while producing quality work

  • Effectiveness in visual communication, including hand sketching skills

  • Solid understanding of visual and branding concepts and their application to, relationship to and integration with the built environment

  • Excellent organizational, project management, file organization and archiving skills

  • Strong professional references

Prefers

  • Interest in the topics of housing, community, social justice and architecture

  • Experience / interest in website management (CMS)

  • Experience in the air conditioning industry

  • Experience with basic photography and videography

  • Experience with 3D visualization is a plus
